Marissa Ann Napier was a high school student at Highline High School. She was 15 years old and had tried marijuana and LSD before. She had a lot of friends and was an active person. She baby sat for her neighbors. She was very well liked in her school. She was at a party one night and she tried MDMA also known as ecstasy for the first time. After a few hours she started to go into convulsions. She was brought into the hospital and was in a coma for a little over a day. She never recovered from the coma, Marissa died from anoxic encephalopathy. Her brain was not getting enough oxygen due to the MDMA intoxication. Death from MDMA intoxication is rare but in does happen. The death rate is going to keep growing because the rate of use is also growing. If kids are not aware of the effects and what the consequences can be, the deaths are going to keep going up.

Many kids now are afraid to use drugs like marijuana because of the risk of getting arrested. So now they have discorded house hold products that can get them high. They call it huffing. This is a web site that tells about deaths caused by this and the risks of doing it. This article shows the consequences of what these drugs can do to any one. Even using it once can cause death. The tragic things that happen to kids needs to be shown so others know not to use them.
This web site shows that one use of a drug can cause death. The girl in the web site had used other drugs before. Then she tried Ecstasy once and was put into a coma. Soon after she died. Ecstasy use is growing among teens, and if they don't see what it can do to them the use is going to keep growing.

The information I will be gathering will almost all be from web sites that show statistis about drug use by high school students. http://www.gdcada.org/dii/n/n.htm gives information about what drugs are used most and what can be done to prevent the use. The sites I have been looking at give information about drugs, what they do to people after use, long term affects, who is using them, and ways to prevent use.

The audience that the paper will be written will be kids in in 7th or 8th grade to people up to the age of 20. The information about drug use in high school should be known by kids in high school, kids a few years below high school, and even kids a few years older then high school students. This information can be useful to stop kids from starting to use drugs, and to make kids who are already using them to maybe realize what affects it is having on them and stop.

Drug use in high schools is a topic that high school kids should know about. They should be aware of whats going on around them and how serious some problems might be. Some kids may think that every one smokes pot, or every one drinks alcohol, but not every one does and kids should know. If other teens realize that only some kids use drugs, maybe others won't start. Also statistics show that when some kids start, they don't stop. Kids think they are just going to try it or they just do it every once in a while, but it doesn't stop there. Once they do it once in a while the number of times increases until its once week or even more.

Since I am a high school student I think a paper on drug use in schools will be very interesting and informing to other kids in high school. Cell phone jammers are devices that can be about the size of a cell phone that create a dead zone for phone service. A small device that is the size of a cell phone can create a dead zone on average between 50 and 80 feet. These devices are only legal for U.S. goveremnt angencies to use in the U.S. I dont agree on normal people being able to use this device. It would only cause annoyence to many people. If you just wanted to block the signal of the annoying guy next to you in line or somthing it will but it could also block some one 50 feet away in there car tying to make an important phone call. They should only be used in emergemcy situations by police or other law enforcement officers. If kids get a hold of these things they would probly run around and try to see who they can annoy by blocking cell phone service. They invade other peoples prvicy. Who says its ok to block the annoying guy in line phone service, he could be having a very important conversaion with some one. These devices should not be legalzed in the U.S. unless there is a lot of restrictions made to control their use.

Intro collage essay

When I was 11 my father got into a terrible car accident. It changed my entire life and prospective on things in general. He was in a coma for a month. He had to be taught to talk, walk, eat, and eventually drive. He will never be able to recover fully because lost sight in one eye and damaged his brain a little bit. For a while it was like his brain was going through stages. He started out as a kid and after about two years he was close to what he was before his accident. This entire experience shocked me. I thought nothing like that could never happen to some one I knew, never mind a family member.
